This past year, Roosevelt Williams III took his message of empowerment and equity across continents, traveling to Kenya to speak on entrepreneurship and community building. As the founder of Young Black & N’ Business (YB&NB), Roosevelt addressed audiences of aspiring entrepreneurs, policymakers, and students, sharing insights on breaking systemic barriers and fostering innovation in overlooked communities.

Standing on stage in Nairobi, he spoke about his experiences uplifting underserved neighborhoods in San Diego and how those lessons translate globally. “True leadership is about lifting others as you climb,” Roosevelt told attendees, urging them to embrace collaboration, vision, and resilience. His message resonated deeply, sparking connections that will pave the way for future international partnerships.

This journey reflects Roosevelt’s unique ability to inspire on a local and global scale. As he brings those lessons home, his campaign for City Council is grounded in a belief that San Diego can lead the way in inclusive economic growth and cultural exchange.
